During the early childhood years, children start to develop their self-identity, a sense of who they are based on their roles and relationships in their family, early care settings or school and their community.

One of the most influential early childhood mentors of the last 50 years has been Barbara Taylor Bowman. She is recognized as a mentor and role model to countless early childhood professionals who carry on the lessons learned from her expertise.
